Acronis

Has anyone tried to run Acronis True Image with Vista 5384? I get an error message saying I don't have enough privileges.

Have you tried disabling UAP to see if it will then work? Click Start > All Programs > Run > type in MSCONFIG > click Tools (tab) > scroll down > select "Disable UAP" > click "Launch" > close command propmpt > restart system for changes to take effect. -- -- Andre Windows Connected | http://www.windowsconnected.com Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta

Thanks for the suggestion Andre. I tried what you suggested and it killed Windows with the familiar blue screen of death. It's too bad because I use Acronis a lot. "Andre Da Costa [Extended64]" wrote in message

I know it might be a security issue... but try running it in compatibility mode with XP. The first time I tried to work with Windows Live Mail Desktop, said I didn't have the permissions to do so... except I was running as the *full* administrator - slapped it in compat. mode with XP SP2 and viola - works like a charm.

Trueimage 9 is not supported w/in Vista according to them, however you can image and backup from a Trueimage boot media fine.
